According to a report from Hitwise, John Deere grew in internet search popularity during the week ending July 17.
According to the company that follows internet traffic, the term "John Deere combines" grew in popularity by 0.01 percent in that week in its Retail 500 custom category. The rise in interest in the farm equipment outpaced searches for "Kourtney Kardashian" and "bbq grill accessories," which came in second and third, respectively.
The summer brings a time of year when many towns, counties and states are holding farm-related fairs, which could play a factor in increasing the popularity of John Deere combines.
Meanwhile, the company has made its own moves of late, including opening a facility in Germany that will specialize in research and development and will serve Europe and areas near it.
Furthermore, golfer Louis Oosthuizen may have spurred the popularity of the brand by taking some of his British Open winnings and using them to buy a custom-made John Deere tractor, which he plans on using at his farm in South Africa.
