A group of volunteers in Detroit has used tractors to help take care of the location where Tiger Stadium used to stand, making it once again a place where people can play a little ball.
According to a report from the Detroit News, people have been coming to the location on Sundays, taking care of the site with used tractors, disposing of trash and slashing back weeds.
"I just think it would be nice if there were a little ballpark until a larger project comes along," David Merser, a volunteer who has helped out, told the newspaper.
The work started back in May, as Redford Township's Tom Derry noted that people were gathering at the park to play ball. However, the field was overgrown and littered with garbage. As a result, he got in contact with some of his friends in order to help get the area in order.
While people in Detroit are bringing baseball back to the former location of the ballpark, the owners of the diamond made famous in the movie Field of Dreams are trying to sell their property, although at this point they haven't found any takers.
