More than 10,000 people are expected to attend the Virginia Farm Show at the Augusta Expo, as visitors will likely be attracted by the variety of events and exhibits at the event, according to the Staunton News Leader.
The news source reported that after seeing the significant number of used John Deere tractors, farm equipment vendors and agriculture-related booths, some visitors noted they would have to return for a second day.
"They have an excellent show here, vendors from all over the states," Alton Pannel of Sherando, who was overwhelmed by the amount of farming equipment, information and services showcased, told the news source. "I'm coming back tomorrow; I didn't realize how much there'd be. They got things for farmers, industry, landowners, weekend farmers, whatever. It's really great for us to have it so close."
One of the event organizers told the news source that it was the biggest show they have had yet.
The event's website noted that the show has been in existence since 1996, when a local council for agribusiness decided to offer informational events on the state of the farming industry.
