Soybean and Crop Farming to be Focus of Inaugural Great Lakes Crop Summit
Soybean practices and news will be discussed at the inaugural Great Lakes Crop Summit in Battle Creek, Michigan
Farmers in the Great Lakes region will have an opportunity to collaborate and listen to the latest soybean and general crop farming advice and news from industry experts at the inaugural “Great Lakes Crop Summit” January 22-23, 2014 at FireKeepers Hotel and Casino in Battle Creek, Mich.
The Corn Marketing Program of Michigan, Michigan Soybean Promotion Committee and Michigan Wheat Program have collaborated to create a program full of educational sessions offering agronomic and business management information as well as a trade show featuring leading agricultural companies.
The event will be kicked off with a panel of commodity experts including Jim Palmer of the National Association of Wheat Growers, Rick Tolman from the National Corn Growers Association and John Becherer from the United Soybean Board. A number of additional speakers will be covering soybean topics ranging from planting dates to seed quality.
Tim Boring, Research Director for the Michigan Soybean Promotion Committee, said about the upcoming show in a Farmers’ Advance article, "We're pleased to have this opportunity to partner with the corn and wheat organizations to offer a collaborative event for our farmers. By pooling our resources, we have coordinated a first-rate lineup of speakers to present on a variety of farm topics."
Crop farmers in the Great Lakes region have an opportunity to collaborate and listen in on expert panels pertaining to crop (soybean focused) farming in the area at the inaugural Great Lakes Crop Summit. Registration for the two-day conference is $125 by January 8.
