More than 60 million people have taken to running virtual agricultural equipment through FarmVille, a social media-based game available through Facebook.
Now the game's enthusiasts will be able to take their farm equipment activities on the go, provided they have an Apple iPad. FarmVille producer Zynga said the game is now available on the mobile device as a downloadable application.
Steven Chiang, Zynga president of studios, said the company wants players to be able to partake in its games wherever they may desire.
"The iPad is a spectacular gaming device, and the new FarmVille app leverages its larger touch screen interface and enhanced graphics," Zynga said. "FarmVille on the iPhone was an instant hit and now we are giving people another Apple device to play on."
Having the game on the iPad and iPhone gives users the advantage of handling their crops with a touch screen. The feature is also employed when driving farm equipment in FarmVille.
Recently, Farmers Insurance made its airship one of the features of the game. By placing it on their farmers, users could protect their crops for 10 days.
