Though many producers may use farm equipment for the common reasons associated with it, a recent story noted that some ranchers have tapped machinery in order to help people with problems associated with snow.
A recent report from Oklahoma's NewsPress featured John Williams, a rancher that cares for 500 cattle in the town of Coyle. Due to recent snow storms, Willaims has used farm equipment in order to free people who have been stuck in snowy drifts.
"We had lots of snow and it really fouled us up, Williams told the paper.
Along with dealing with trapped motorists, ranchers in the state are having their own problems dealing with the tough weather. The report said that some producers are having a hard time getting farm equipment out to their cattle as more snow still threatens the state.
In addition to making ranch duties difficult, the snowy weather has stranded many travelers who were trying to get home after the holidays. Furthermore, a failed terrorist plot on a flight landing in Detroit caused an increase in security, which further delayed flights.
