The route for the 8th annual North Iowa Tractor Ride, slated to take place between July 16 and 18, has been announced, beginning at the Fayette County Fairgrounds in West Union, Ia. and taking participants through various scenic locations across Northeast Iowa.
The tractor ride route will make stops along the Scenic Byway at locations including Klock’s Island Park, Viafield, and Elgin. Eventually, the tractors will make their way back to the Fayette County Fairgrounds.
“Riders will really enjoy this year’s route,” said Jamie Nelson, an event organizer. “This part of northeast Iowa is one of the prettiest parts of state, and there are beautiful attractions everyone will want to see.”
Approximately 150 tractors are expected to participate in the event. The ride is sponsored by three Iowa radio stations -- 98.7 KISS Country in Mason City, 103.7 The Fox in Mason City, and 95.1 The Bull in New Hampton.
Residents are being encouraged to come out for the event and tour the tractors at the fairgrounds in West Union. After the ride, the tractors will be eligible for overnight parking at the Fayette County Fairgrounds.
Tractor owners can still apply to participate in the ride. An application can be found on the North Iowa Tractor Ride website, and there is a $100.00 fee to be paid upon signing up.
