A two-day educational program is being hosted by Purdue University’s Center for Food and Agricultural Business between May 31 and June 1. The goal of the seminar will be to inform attendees on building the sales force, coaching at work, organizational culture, and sales management.
The “Sales Management and Leadership” event is geared toward current and future agricultural sales managers. Attendees will be able to expand upon their coaching and employee development skills. Individuals can attend interactive lectures, hands-on coaching sessions and collaborative group work throughout the event.
“When it comes to sales management, the best salespeople are often promoted to leadership positions,” said Scott Downey, center associate director, associate professor and program presenter at Purdue. “The problem is that the skills necessary to succeed in sales are very different than the skills required to be a good manager. ‘Sales Management and Leadership’ helps these professionals make the transition—whether they’re already in a management position or likely to move into one in the future.”
Downey will be presenting at the event, along with Tom Dukes, associate professor of counseling, educational leadership and school psychology at Rhode Island College; Sam Faggetti, customer development manager for WinField United; and Dave Kucik, Purdue Crew head coach.
Early registration for the event through March 31 is $1,895 per person. More information can be found at http://agribusiness.purdue.edu/SML17.
