A John Deere machine is poised to be even more efficient thanks to a device designed by a Mississippi outfit, according to a published report.
The Cotton Spear was manufactured by KBH Corporation of Clarksdale. It is a round module handler that longtime cotton-growing customers in Missouri helped the corporation develop. The John Deere 7760 Cotton Picker creates modules that the Cotton Spear seamlessly handles.
"The Cotton Spear is less expensive, has lower maintenance, and is easier to operate for round module handling," said Tim Tenhet, KBH national sales and marketing manager. "It's priced thousands of dollars less than other module handlers."
Whether the Cotton Spear can be used with other John Deere equipment or is available for purchase at your local John Deere dealership is unclear.
"The unique implement also has no moving parts and eliminates hydraulics, which means low maintenance," Tenhet said. "However, it can be used with a hydraulic top link to increase versatility. Additionally, the Cotton Spear is the fastest and easiest operated module handler available."
