The University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) announced on July 30 that the 17th annual Soybean Management Field Days will begin on Aug. 11 and continue through Aug. 14. The focus of the event will be to help soybean producers stay competitive in the global market, boost profits and meet the world’s food and energy needs, starting in Nebraska.
Topics that will be discussed at the field days include grain marketing, the role of water quality, soybean production and soybean integration. Those who attend will gain insight into the challenges they face in producing quality crops to generate an income. To answer attendees’ questions, there will be research, agronomists, insect specialists and plant disease experts on hand.
"Soybean Management Field Days are an excellent opportunity to access unbiased research that addresses many of today's potential soybean production and management decisions,” said Ron Pavelka, chairman of the Nebraska Soybean Board of Directors. “Taking advantage of attending one of the four field days allows soybean producers from across the state to bring their check off funded research back home to be put to work on their farms."
Each of the field days will begin at 9 a.m. with registration and end at 2:30 p.m. Registration is free to those who are interested on the day of the event. The field days will take place at the Rick and Chuck Bergman farm (near Holdrege), Jason and Dennis Bonsack farm (near Alda), Mike Anderson Farm (near Wakefield), and Kent Moravec farm (near Greenwood), respectively.
