One of the largest farm shows in the world, featuring new technology in the industry and older farm equipment, the Husker Harvest Days exhibition is a staple in the Nebraska agricultural community, according to the Central Nebraska Independent.
Tractor enthusiasts travel from around the state to participate in the event, showcase their vintage vehicles and view the massive collection of farm equipment that is present at the annual show, reported the news source.
The Husker Harvest Days show is a chance for local residents to learn about how the agricultural industry has grown and evolved into a modern sector. While the attendees utilize the modern equipment, a love for the older John Deere tractor models brings area enthusiasts together, according to the Independent.
"I have always enjoyed seeing the old stuff," Howard Uhrich, a resident and avid tractor fan, told the news source. "I am a farmer, and I farm with modern equipment, but I collect the old stuff."
The 2011 Husker Harvest Days show features a variety of events that range from herding dog demonstrations to wild horse gentling, according to the event website.
