MyJohnDeere Opens to Collaborating Software Developers and Companies
According to a recent company news release, John Deere is opening the “MyJohnDeere” platform to collaborating software developers and companies to more quickly turn data into management solutions for customers.
The new collaboration is designed to increase productivity, efficiency, and yield by allowing third-party companies to interface with MyJohnDeere, JDLink, and Wireless Data Transfer, three important elements of Deere’s overall agriculture technology strategy.
Cory Reed, Senior Vice President, Intelligent Solutions Group, Deere & Company, says in the release, "The MyJohnDeere platform will allow input suppliers, ag retailers, local agronomists and software companies to provide applications and software that connect through the platform. A recent DuPont Pioneer announcement is an example of how these collaborations will greatly benefit our customers by expanding the choices they have to improve productivity, efficiency and yield. Producers should also expect to see more collaborative applications with other businesses going forward."
MyJohnDeere was introduced in 2012, providing agriculture producers with a portal to consolidate equipment information, production data and general farm operations into one interface where they can access, share, and manage data. The platform is available to customers through smart phones, tablets, and computers, allowing them to access the information whenever it is needed.
Deere continues to expand their agriculture technology offerings, now opening the MyJohnDeere platform to collaboration with software developers and companies in an effort to improve productivity, efficiency, and yield for producers.
