Minnesota residents will be treated to a variety of events and exhibitions at the annual state fair, which features a trip through time in the annual Old Iron Show that takes place, according to Minnesota Public Radio (MPR).
Moorhead resident John Beecher, an annual attendee at the fair, has noted that he returns each year to the event because of the Old Iron Show, which showcases the machinery that he has lived with his whole life, reported the news source.
"That's how I learned to drive, was on the farm," noted Beecher. "With a hand clutch on an old John Deere A."
Beecher also noted that seeing the antique and vintage tractors that are present in the exhibit allows residents a chance to view a large portion of their heritage, and helps to generate an appreciation for the role that the technology has played, according to MPR.
The Minnesota State Fair is being held from August 25 to September 5, 2011, and features events ranging from the Old Iron Show to the 2011 Grandstand Concert Series, according to the event website.
