The second annual Southern Maryland Antique Tractor Parade will feature a variety of vintage farm equipment and vehicles as residents from around the state will head to Leonardtown for the festivities, according to Southern Maryland Newspapers Online.
A variety of vintage John Deere tractors are expected to be seen at the event, as participants are encouraged to bring their favorite vehicles to the show. There will also be farm equipment displayed around the town, so multiple models can be brought by visitors, reported the news source.
"So far we’ve got about 50 tractors lined up that we didn’t see last year," Walter Neal of the Southern Maryland Antique Power Association, told the news source. "It’s a day that’s all about educating the younger kids while also reminding some of the older folks like me of old tractors we all saw growing up."
The Southern Maryland Antique Power Association, the organizer for the event, is a group of local tractor enthusiasts who hold shows in order to celebrate their favorite farm equipment and the heritage behind it, according to the organization's website.
