A used tractor has its own way of keeping cool through the technology encased within its engine, but people should also keep in mind that they have to keep themselves safe when it comes to yard work.
A recent report from New Jersey's Madison Eagle notes that drinking plenty of fluid is important while working in the hot sun, and that people should avoid drinks that contain alcohol or caffeine. Those can cause the body to lose water, thereby increasing the negative effects of hot summer weather.
Furthermore, the paper said that there are precautions people can take regarding how they drive their used tractors when caring for a lawn.
"If the lawn slopes, mow across the slope when using a walk-behind rotary mower. But with a riding mower, drive up and down the slope, not across," the report said.
Other experts have noted that the layout of a lawn should affect purchasing decisions when it comes to new and used tractors. If a yard would take more than one hour to mow on foot, then homeowners could consider buying a riding model.
