John Deere is planning to host its first-ever Farm Fun Day on Saturday, June 10 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the John Deere Tractor and Engine Museum.
The event is being held in conjunction with My Waterloo Days, the local community festival geared toward bringing families together.
"This will be the Museum's first, large-scale family event and we look forward to creating a day of fun for kids of all ages," said Rosa Grant, manager of the John Deere Tractor & Engine Museum. "A variety of special activities will keep kids entertained while they learn about life on a farm. Opportunities both inside and outside our facility will provide plenty of learning and fun for the whole family."
Children will be able to drive on a pedal tractor obstacle course, or try their hand at a pedal-powered tractor pull. Attendees are being encouraged to bring their own pedal tractors to the event, as there will be a Pedal Tractor Show for individuals to display their equipment.
The free event will provide educational opportunities for attendees to learn more about planting, harvesting, and more. Blacksmith demonstrations will be held all day as well.
The event will be located at 500 Westfield Avenue in Waterloo. More information can be found by going to www.VisitJohnDeere.com.
