Deere and Company has announced that it will acquire King Agro, a privately-held manufacturer of carbon fiber technology products.
The deal will help both companies as they share best practices in product development, manufacturing and technology, according to John May, president of Agricultural Solutions and Chief Information Officer at John Deere. Under the agreement, King Agro will retain its brand name, trademark, and commercial relationships.
"This transaction provides John Deere customers the chance to benefit further from King Agro's unique knowledge, designs, and expertise in carbon fiber technology," said May.
In 2015, Deere and King Agro worked together to develop and distribute carbon fiber booms for John Deere application equipment. This offered growers advantages in carbon fiber’s versatility, strength and durability when it came to the use of self-propelled spraying equipment.
King Agro is headquartered in Valencia, Spain, and has a production facility in Campana, Argentina. It is a family-owned business with more than 180 employees and has 30 years of experience developing a wide array of carbon fiber products.
Deere and Company continues to be a world leader in providing advanced products and services to professionals who work with the land, whether it’s in agriculture or other commercial industries. John Deere has been creating innovative products built on the tradition of integrity since 1837.
