People who buy John Deere construction equipment, even if it is used, may benefit from a warranty extension offered by the company.
The equipment manufacturer said it is expanding its warranty coverage on this machinery from six months to a full year. It also noted that the warranty can be transferred to another owner if the piece is sold to another person.
Ron Mayfield, a director with John Deere, noted that allowing the warranty to transfer, while also extending its coverage, improves the resale value of equipment.
"In addition, the entire network of more than 600 dealer locations in the U.S. and Canada stand ready to honor our warranty," Mayfield said.
The company noted that it has introduced the warranty extension with a mind to the fact that consumers may be facing economic difficulties. Adding coverage may add savings to people in the form of reduced repair costs, provided the fixes are within the scope of the agreement.
Consumers may be able to provide their own protection against damages by being sure they maintain their equipment properly, which includes upkeep recommended by the manufacturer.
