For agricultural producers who are looking to boost their productivity and efficiency while baling, John Deere has introduced the new L341R High-Density Large Square Baler. Additionally, Bale Documentation technology will now be available on its line of large square balers.
One of the highlights of the L341R is its bale chamber, which is 18 inches longer than the bale chambers featured on previous square balers. This provides extra pressure to the bales, packing the crops tightly as they move through the machine. The John Deere L341R also has more plunger force and tension panel pressure for additional efficiency.
"There are fewer bales to pick up and move which leads to less in-field compaction," said Chase Milem, marketing manager at John Deere. "Since fewer bales need to be removed from the field, farmers save time, labor, and fuel. In addition, the heavy bales help ensure trucks are loaded with the most amount of hay possible for enhanced efficiency."
Agricultural producers working in large fields will see more productivity by using the John Deere L341R for baling. This is because the machine is designed to densely pack more hay into each bale, reducing the time it takes to pack and transport the materials. "The time farmers will need to retrieve the bales from the field will be less,” Milem continued. “Since there are fewer bales to pick up and move, and less traffic in the field, potential crop regrowth can increase.”
By leveraging the new Bale Documentation technology, agricultural producers will have insight into the weight and moisture of their bales. Additionally, this data will be easily transferrable to the John Deere Operations Center for record-keeping and future analysis.
"Gathering bale yield data may offer farmers insights into irrigation frequencies and water-volume applied,” Milem explained. “It also can improve nutrient application plans and provide an estimate on the volume of residue removed from a field."
