John Deere has recently updated its model year 2022 planters to meet the needs of producers who want to apply high rates of liquid fertilizer at planting. These redesigned pieces of machinery are part of a factory-installed, integrated ExactRate™ solution that eliminates the need for add-on tanks.

"A John Deere ExactRate, fluid-transfer-equipped planter is designed to work seamlessly with 8RX tractors fitted with ExactRate tractor tanks to provide additional fluid-carrying capacity and to allow you to apply high rates of nitrogen at planting without sacrificing planting efficiency or increasing soil compaction," said Kevin Juhl, marketing manager for John Deere. "Multiple independent studies have shown that fertilizer applied at the time of planting provides the best opportunity for plant health, on-time maturity, and increased bushels per acre."

The factory-installed fluid tanks hold up to 600 gallons, reducing the need to stop and reload, ultimately boosting workday efficiency. The tires on the MY22 John Deere 1775NT planers can also be replaced with factory-installed tracks to improve flotation and reduce ground pressure by up to 73%.

To plan the entire operation and monitor performance, customers can refer to the John Deere Operations Center. This tool allows operators to keep an eye on their machinery and analytics from anywhere. They can also share this information with their advisors to help with the decision-making process.
