The American Agricultural Editors Association (AAEA) awards were in held Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to celebrate the leaders who best represented the industry and individuals who made significant contributions to help further the profession, according to Ag Wired.
Recognition for distinguished service and lifetime achievement were among the many awards that were handed out at the ceremony, which honored several key innovations in the field as well as the individual accomplishments, the news source reported.
While the awards were held during the annual meeting of the AAEA, the presentation was made possible due to a generous grant that was given by industry giant the John Deere company, Ag Wired reported.
The grant from the agricultural company was matched by the AAEA PIF, and the total money from this organization and John Deere allow for the celebration of the fine individuals who made great strides within the industry, according to the news source.
Along with making significant contributions to the industry through donations and grants, John Deere provides the latest in farm equipment including the new 7R Series, the company website reported.
