John Deere revealed its 5G Series Tractors to the public on Dec. 9, which are designed to cater to the needs of orchard and vineyard producers. The tractors come with narrow and maneuverable configurations, and they are available in three different engine horsepowers – 75hp, 90hp and 100hp.

"The 5G Series Tractors build on the success of the 5EN Series to offer customers more choices for their specialty applications," said Christopher Lammie, product manager of John Deere Augusta. "With two chassis widths for narrow (5GN) and vineyard (5GV) applications, the 5G Series Tractors bring John Deere utility tractor performance into specialty row applications."

There are two different models – the 5GN and 5GV. The 5GV model comes in 40.5 inches, while the 5GN is 52 inches. These sizes are designed to meet the needs of farmers who work in narrow rows and strive to reduce crop damage. Both models also have a tight turning radius for more accuracy.

All of the 5G Series Tractors meet Final Tier 4 Engine emissions requirements, and they come standard with Economy PTO. This helps reduce engine RPM by 15 percent, saving input cost for users.

"Customers also have flexible transmission choices with the 5G Series Tractors," Lammie continued. "The new 5G offers a mechanical 12F/12R transmission or 24F/12R transmission with PowerReverser."
