Although used John Deere tractors can be found throughout the U.S. in fields of crops and on small farms, a newer model has added to the accolades that have been given to the agricultural company.
According to StackYard.com, the John Deere 7280R tractor has been chosen as the Tractor of the Year 2012 from a group of seven finalists by a jury of 20 European farm equipment magazine editors. The honor was bestowed upon the agricultural company at the annual Agritechnica event in Hanover, Germany.
James Wienke, tractor engineering manager at the John Deere Waterloo Works in the U.S., and German branch manager Helmut Korthober were on hand to accept the award on behalf of the farm equipment company.
According to the news source, the award was given due to the many new features that exist in the 7280R tractor.
Tractor Data reported that the John Deere 7280R tractor comes complete with a 6-cylinder, 280 horsepower engine and a variety of new technology that the company put in their 2011-2012 line of products.
