The visitors to Bruce Schmoll's Minnesota farm were impressed with the agricultural expertise that the Dodge Country resident possessed, but were equally struck by the tractor ride that they were given during the tour of the premises, Agricultural News reported.
Members of the Japanese delegation were seen grinning from ear to ear following rides on the John Deere 8770 four-wheel-drive tractor that Schmoll uses on his property. The group took turns on the farm equipment while surveying the farm and the techniques that are used by the Minnesota farmer, according to the news source.
The eagerness of the guests to learn about the farm and the tractor that they rode led them to fall behind schedule on the rest of their tour, reported the news source.
"It was our fault for getting behind in the first place because they asked so many questions," Joel Schreurs of Tyler, a Minnesota Soybean Growers Association board member, told Agricultural News.
Aside from helping with touring delegates from foreign countries, the Minnesota Soybean Growers Association helps area farmers use more innovative and green products in their farming, reported the organization's website.
