A Hampton, Iowa celebration will feature a variety of events and activities for local residents, as the town will acknowledge its agricultural heritage through an event to be held the weekend of August 13, according to the Mason City Globe Gazette.
The town will host a antique tractor parade to celebrate the essential piece of farm equipment that has helped the area industry survive for generations, the news source reported.
Hosted by the Hampton Lions Club and local radio station KLMJ, the event will feature a procession that is led by the favorite tractors of residents. Along with the festivities that surround the parade and the antique show, guests will be treated to several games and a variety of area food, reported the Gazette.
A round of tractor trivia will follow the one hour show for the antique models of farm equipment, and residents will have a chance to win some of the many John Deere tractor toys, prizes that will be catered to all age groups, the news source reported.
New models of John Deere products are offered by the agricultural giant that is based in Iowa, as a new version of the D110 Lawn Tractor is available, according to the company website.
