John Deere, already the top brand name for manufacturing farming and agricultural machinery, saw its star shine even brighter on Sunday when the episode of a popular reality show featured its equipment, according to a published report.

The Moline, Illinois-based company provided two 648H Skidders and equipment experts to "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," an ABC show that helps a family suffering from a hardship by building a new home. Past shows' hardships include damage wrought by natural disasters, the death of a family member or a life-threatening illness that would require the construction of handicapped entryways.

"John Deere Forestry is excited to participate in 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition' based on the TV series' dedication to generating hope for families and helping them realize dreams of home transformations," Nate Clark, forestry marketing manager for John Deere, told gardennews.biz.

The Deere equipment and staff helped demolish the existing home of the featured family for the housing upgrade.

"The willingness of the show's numerous designers, contractors, and volunteers to contribute their talents and resources to impact the lives of others is truly inspirational, and we are honored to lend a helping hand," Clark said.
