For the ninth consecutive year, the Ethisphere Institute has recognized John Deere & Company on its “World’s Most Ethical Companies” list. The institute annually recognizes organizations that have had a material impact on the way business is conducted through ethics and transparency.
The businesses that make it to the Most Ethical Companies list are evaluated in five key categories -- ethics and compliance program, corporate citizenship and responsibility, culture of ethics, governance, and leadership, innovation and reputation.
According to the list, John Deere was one of five industrial manufacturing companies to be included, putting them in an elite category.
"Our focus on doing business in alignment with our core values has earned John Deere the loyalty of customers for many generations,” said Samuel Allen, chairman and chief executive officer of Deere & Company. “We do not take that for granted and will continue to work hard to earn that trust.”
Ethisphere is dedicated to advancing standards of ethical business practices that promote corporate character and marketplace trust, according to the company. This year’s list of the World’s Most Ethical Companies contains 132 companies from more than 21 countries.
“We’re delighted to honor these companies who not only understand the various components of what makes a company ethical but are dedicated to building an environment that makes it so,” said Timothy Erblich, Ethisphere’s chief executive officer.
Each of the companies included on Ethisphere’s list excel across the five key categories that make up the rankings. John Deere’s continued visibility on this list points to the company’s commitment to ethics, technological advancements, reputation, governance and more.
