Between July 27 and July 29, John Deere collectors and fans will be coming together to celebrate the 50th anniversary of hydro-powered lawn and garden machines originally manufactured by Deere and Company. The event will take place near Horicon, Wisconsin, and consist of a wide variety of exhibits featuring rare and collectible pieces.
There will also be a swap meet, along with a daily parade of tractors and several memorabilia displays. Thousands of people are expected to attend the event, which will be sponsored by John Deere Horicon Works and “Lawn & Garden Tractor Magazine.”
“This is a niche event for certain, but we all know John Deere enthusiasts come in large quantities and those interested in lawn and garden equipment are as passionate about their collecting as anyone,” said Kate Goelzhauser, editor of Lawn & Garden Tractor Magazine. “We’ve been planning this event for months and have collectors joining us from as far away as New Mexico, Texas and Canada. Our event in 2013 attracted participants from 37 states and three Canadian provinces and we are aiming for a similar crowd this year. We can’t wait to see the variety of machines and fans that help us celebrate 50 Years of Hydro with John Deere.”
At least 1,000 John Deere garden tractors of all models will be on display, along with a variety of lawn and garden tractor memorabilia. More information on the event can be found by visiting the event’s Facebook page.
