Vintage tractor collecting is a hobby for many Americans, but an Australia resident has taken the practice to a new level with the acquisition of his 100th vehicle, according to ABC News.
Bill Shanley has demonstrated his love for vintage John Deere tractors and used farm equipment by amassing a significant collection of the vehicles. While he revels in his accomplishment, his wife has enacted a diamond per tractor policy to limit his purchases, reported the news source.
"I had to buy a rose if I bought a tractor, so we are getting too many roses in the garden (and) she hit me with this idea not long ago of a diamond if I bought a tractor, so that might quiet me down a bit!" the collector told ABC.
Shanley doesn't mind buying the diamonds, as his love for the antique tractors, especially his John Deere model 20 vehicles, has made the purchases of jewelry just a part of his routine.
The John Deere model 20 tractors are some of the smallest lines of vehicles from the agricultural giant, as the total horsepower is often less than 50, according to Tractor Data.
