The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) has recently awarded John Deere’s 5G Series Tractors and 9009A TerrainCut™ Rotary Rough Mower with AE50 Awards. These awards are given annually to celebrate the year’s most innovative designs in product engineering.
The John Deere 5G Series Tractor line was introduced to the market in 2015. The tractors’ narrow frames and maneuverability make them a valuable product in confined orchard and vine crop environments. Five models are currently available, ranging from 75 to 100 horsepower.
Chris Lammie, product marketing manager for John Deere, says, "The 5G Series Tractors build on the success of our previous specialty crop utility tractors to provide the compact power solutions that grape, almond and other specialty crop producers demand. With optional Intelligent Power Management to deliver additional horsepower when needed, flexible transmission choices, and many other customer-focused features, the 5G is one of the first Final Tier 4 utility tractor lines available in the specialty crop segment."
The John Deere 9009A was launched in early 2016 and is designed to provide turf managers with a higher cut quality and elevated levels of productivity.
Tracy Lanier, manager, product marketing, John Deere Golf, says, "The 9009A was designed with our customer's needs for productivity and cut quality in mind. It's this customer-driven approach to product design that inspired many of the advancements featured in this machine and the entire A Model line, and we're honored to be recognized."
