John Deere announced on Aug. 10 that the John Deere Pavilion in Moline, Ill., will be the site of the Quad Cities Area Heritage Tractor Parade and Show for the fourth year in a row. At the event, slated to take place on Sept. 12, antique tractors and equipment will star in the parade.
"Heritage equipment fans are a very dedicated and passionate group of enthusiasts and we love being able to offer an opportunity for collectors to showcase their pride and joy during this tractor parade and show," said Kristen Veto, assistant manager of the John Deere Pavilion. "Not only is it a lot of fun for the collectors who participate, but visitors to the John Deere Pavilion that day will have an opportunity to see some remarkable pieces of equipment on display.”
Applications are still being accepted from those who want to register for the event. The process is free, and the only requirement is that the farm equipment must be from 1970 or earlier.
“The best part is hearing the collectors' stories and sharing experiences with all those involved,” Veto continued.
The heritage tractor parade is set to start at 10 a.m. in front of the John Deere Pavilion. At the end of the parade, they will return to the pavilion, which is where they will be on display until 5 p.m. There will also be blacksmith demonstrations on hand.
The John Deere Pavilion has brought in more than three million people from around the world for events since it opened back in 1997.
