Agriculture Technology Sits Atop U.S. Farmers’ Holiday Wish Lists
Wireless agriculture technology has come to the forefront of U.S. farmers' desired gifts this holiday season
With the holidays around the corner, agricultural producers across the nation’s Corn Belt and surrounding states are putting ag technology-related gifts at the top of their gift lists. This is according to a recent PrecisionPays article sharing more than 100 responses from an Ayrstone survey.
The data gathered shows more than 40 percent of those surveyed are putting wireless remote cameras and wireless remote weather station/soil sensors on their lists. Additionally, nearly 50 percent are looking for a wireless farm network that extends up to 7.5 miles from their homes.
These desires are being caused by a general frustration that exists regarding a current lack of connectivity on U.S. farms. Nearly 80 percent said they are frustrated with their current wireless experience and connectivity spreading across the farm.
Companies like John Deere have been improving their agricultural technology offerings in recent years to better meet these demands. Kathy Michael, product manager, John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group, said about their recently designed Wireless Data Transfer offerings, “More of our customers are collecting data from machinery operating in the field. They analyze the data to improve overall operations and share the data with trusted advisors to help make better decisions.”
Wireless technology has come to the forefront of farmers’ wish lists in Corn Belt and surrounding states as collecting data and using it to improve the farming process has become attainable thanks to innovations from companies like John Deere.
