The annual antique toy show in Charter Oaks, Iowa, has been running for 25 straight years, as the sea of John Deere green and yellow draws crowds from all over the country, according to ABC News local affiliate 9 KCAU.
Although the majority of the toy tractors and other pieces of model farm equipment are based on John Deere products, there are also smaller versions that are not quite as extensively decorated. Many visitors noted that the size of the models was the only difference that was visible to the naked eye, the news source reported.
Several attendees noted that they drove from significant distance to see the model farm equipment, as these tractor enthusiasts loved everything related to the yellow and green company, KCAU reported.
"It gets better every year. We drove 110 miles in the snow to be here this morning. We snuck in the back and didn't pay, just to come back. If that doesn't tell ya something I don't know what would," former antique show dealer Mark Fisher told the news source.
The Tahlequah Daily Press reported that toy John Deere tractors are almost as popular as the actual pieces of farm equipment, due to the large number of children that ask for the models for Christmas.
